The product is solid. It takes a moment to unpack, organize, and get ready to assemble. First day my husband & I did the posts and rails about 1 1/2 hours needed to wait for the stronger family members to start on the next step. Grandson (15 yr. old) day 2, assembled the frame of the roof with my Son-in-law helping with the setting of the roof framework about 5 hours. Day 3, setting the steel panels for roof 2 sides completed approx. 4 hours. Day 4, start to finish 5 hours. This is not a rush & finish type of job. It is a beautiful gazebo & worth the time & effort to assemble. Pieces are marked.
Taking a post it, black marker labeling, separating roof pieces went quicker than looking for the small i.d. on each piece. You do need to have some general construction knowledge. We had never worked on a project like this. The reviews that state done in 6 hours have had to have worked on an assembly of a gazebo before. It does take 2 strong men. In my case grandson & son-in-law. I am glad I choose Kozyard. I read reviews and researched other products this was the best!
I definitely did my homework before purchasing this gazebo. I was looking for a middle of the road product- one that was decent quantity and did not cost a fortune.
Pros- price point, quality, Attractive.
Cons- the instructions and item labels.
The instructions were somewhat vague and minimal actual instructions, but pictures with item #s. The problem is, you have to unwrap everything and lay out all pieces to see what item is what, and there are hundreds of pieces. Also, some of the roof panels could have been consolidated-ex: there are several very small panels. Unnecessary. Most item numbers are under the wrapping. It took me longer to figure out the instructions then actually assembling this product.
Words of advice-
After frame is up, make sure item is level and square- an inch off with throw off the whole roof alignment.
Use two people for the frame, you do not want to risk dropping the aluminum rails. After that, definitely doable solo.
Have already recommended to several people.
We purchased the 16x12 gray version and couldn't be happier with it. I'm handy and hired a handyman to help me. It took us 2 full days to install it (keep in mind we had to add concrete leg foundations and that alone took 4 hours (most people won't need to do that).
Overall the instructions (along with youtube videos) helped a lot. It wasn't a complicated install, just have to go slow and can be tricky in a few areas but not hard. Definitely need 2 ppl. As others mentioned don't tighten until the end and get a 4mm bit for (2) impact drills will save a couple of hours. I had an electrician install a box at the gazebo and put in 2 hanging fans and 1 light in the center.
survived a big rain and wind storm (this needs to be securely fastened down well!).
we had 1 pc that was bent at shipping and the customer service guy was so nice and gave me feedback on the install. The bent PC was sent to me in 2 days (from CA to CA).
Overall it looks great and very happy.
Very hard to put together, but once its done it looks good
