I love this pergola. I was able to set it up myself... with a hand from my 10 year old at one point and it looks fabulous! And I could not beat the price!
When you assemble it, make sure you position the columns with the holes facing inward, otherwise you will get to the end and realize that you have to take the whole thing apart and start over. Alone. At 9:00 at night. Once that was done, it looks great and appears to be well built.
For those of you who did not get plugs for the larger holes, any 1/2 inch flush mount black plastic cap plugs found on Amazon for around $10 work and look great. Great value. Everything fits with tight tolerance closely. Sometimes you have to push parts to get holes to line up, but they do fit. No problems with threading like others indicated. Some slightly dented cross members due shipping. I can see how others may have received very dented parts. It is 98 lbs of aluminum tightly fit into the box. I saw the UPS guy handle it by himself. He pushed it up the steps onto the porch. The shipping handling is why it may get dented braces and cross members. There is only one side of the box with a wood shield. Otherwise, I love it. Yes, will take someone handy 4 hours to put together. This a good thing, it is very well engineered with many necessary bolts. Yes, you need a second person for about 30 minutes of the total assembly time to hold up main braces while you attach the cross members. Again, a good thing, it is 7-8 8ft up. Well designed. I would have given perfect score 5 if it did not have a couple little dents. There not noticeable since I put them facing away from the house.
Even though it took some time to get the rest of the bolts I needed to finish assembly, Kozyard came through and sent what I needed. After all is assembled, I really like it. Perfect for shade on the deck and looks great. Can't beat the price.
It took my wife and I a total of 5 hours to assemble this pergola. It was well worth the money. I just had one of the main support beams that was bent and a little damaged. No biggie. There were some holes on the brackets that hold some of the beams together that were cross threaded. Manufacturer issue. The only thing I would recommend, is that the manufacture adds like a locking mechanism to lock the sliding cover rails in place on the end where you pull to open or shut. Other than that. great product.
